• He was Lord of Decies and Desmond and a Count Palatine in the year1259. By virtue of the latter royal position, he created three of hissons by his second wife Honora, hereditary knights; and thusoriginated the titles of the 'White Knight.' the 'Knight of Glyn' andthe 'Knight of Kerry. He was also fater of a son by his first wife,who was called, Osborn Fitz Gerald.  This son was also denominated bythe Welsh herald, Osborn Wyddel (Osborn, the Irishman).
