Many circumstantial evidences record one of their children was Yale Hamilton, born 1787 in MA (per newspaper article), including the following letter:

Olive Hamilton Johnson, Letter from Olive Hamilton Johnson to (Frank Blood?) (27 Mar 1903)
"Samuel Hamilton Second Wife & Children.
Her name was Yale, a descendant* of the founder of Yale College. This was told me years ago.
1. Sylvia Hamilton.
2. Olive Hamilton.
4. Yale Hamilton, who went west years ago & supposed to have died."
[Notes: Samuel's wife was a Yale, but not a descendant of Elihu Yale. There was no #3 child listed, the number was skipped. Olive was a great-grandchild of Samuel and Mary Hamilton, and her letter includes a list of descendants of Samuel.]

Yale Hamilton lived in MA, NY, OH, IN and lived and died in Johnson County, Iowa. He was one of the first settlers there. Yale married Dorcas Russell, probably in New York, which is where she was born, and several of their children were born there. They had eleven children, possibly another daughter. He served in the New York Militia in the War of 1812. Listed as Yale Hamilton/Hamelton/Hambleton.
