- He graduated from the Academy at Pacific University, Forest Grove,Ore., and then took a classical course at Portland University. Laterhe took a four years theological course at the Boston School ofTheology, graduating therefrom in 1899. He then made a trip to Europein company with some of his classmates, returning in 1900 when he wasappointed to a Methodist Episcopal pastorate at LaGrande, Ore. Wasreappointed in 1901 and in the midst of this years work he wasstricken down as the result of an operation for appendicitis, expiringon the morning of July 20, 1902. He was a prince among men, steadfast,courageous, generous and faithful, true to his friends, a trueChristian man, a friend to everyone and loved by all who knew him-what more can be said?
