- He was the owner of a large saw and grist mills, and tanneries atLouisville and Yaletown on the Maskinorge River. For several years mewas mayor of Louisville, and Justice of the Peace, and had the rankof Major, as commanding officer of the Militia of Maskinorge County,Quebec, and was twice a candidate for the House of Commons.
