Notes

  • He was a very extensive shoe manufacturer, in his native town, for anumber of years.  On retiring from that buisness, he removed to NewHaven, opened a lottery and exchange office, and was made sherriff'sdeputy for New Haven County, which office he held for some time.  Hefinally returned to Wallingford in 1837, and settled on the farmoriginally owned by his ancestor, Thomas Yale, who settled on it in1670.  The Yales and Wales p.217
