- He was one of the California pioneers in 1849, and made three tripsthere overland from St. Louis. Was for many years the proprieter of alarge carriage manufacuring buisness in Erie, Pa., and was widely andfavorabley known throughout the western part of the state. He alwaystook an active interest in the welfare of his home city.
