He graduated from the Law Schoolof Columbia University and was admitted to the Bar of the State of NYin 1880, since which time he practiced law in NYC. He was active inthe Republican Party and in civil reform, and was a member of the BarAssociation, Society of Colonial Wars, and the Phi Beta KappaFraternity. He was the President of the Alumni Association for NYU andresided at 1 West 30th St, NYC when the Whiton Family History waspublished in 1932.
